Every month this year has hit a little differently, but not so much as December.
And here we are! We’re starting the last month of 2020 yet it feels like we still have at least 200 days left to go. The days have been brutal and we all feel it, even still; some more than others.
If you’ve noticed our focus online shift to self-care, it’s not just because of the Self Care Planner release. It’s because while we all try to navigate our days normally, our minds are coping with uncertainties that come with the coronavirus pandemic so self-care needs to become a priority.
Why?
The sensation of being trapped comes not just from isolating at home but also from not being able to plan for the week ahead, the months ahead, etc. because there’s no sign of it ending. There’s also no way to gauge how it will affect you.
When we constantly are in this position of limited visibility into our own lives, our mental health and emotional health becomes vulnerable.
For the month of December, we advise setting your intentions for self-care. Throughout the month, focus on what you need to keep your mind, body, and soul in balance while navigating through a pandemic society.

Here are some intentions to get you started:
- I intend to be more mindful of what's causing me stress.
- I intend to be more available for myself and my needs.
- I intend to prioritize my mental health as needed.
AND here’s some homework: Schedule time during the last week of December to write down self-care resolutions for the new year.
Don’t head out just yet!
